Within each step of the Risk Assessment, Policy, and Process wizards, you can drag items into any order and restore the BGL default order at any time. The saved order carries through to the generated document.

Where this applies
Drag-and-drop ordering and Restore Defaults are available in the following wizard steps:
| Wizard | Steps where items can be reordered |
|---|---|
| Risk Assessment | All steps with lists of items (e.g. Identify Services, Risk Factors, identified items within each Risk Factor) |
| Policy | The first Policy wizard step (Policy sections list) |
| Process | The first Process wizard step (Process sections list) |
Reordering items by drag-and-drop
|
1
|
Open your Risk Assessment, Policy, or Process wizard from Firm › Program. |
|
2
|
Navigate to the step containing the items you want to reorder. |
|
3
|
Hover over an item row to reveal the drag handle (⋮⋮ icon) on the left side. |
|
4
|
Click and hold the drag handle, drag the item to its new position, then release. |
|
5
|
The new order saves automatically and is used when you generate the document. |
Restoring the default order
To undo custom ordering and return to the BGL standard sequence, use Restore Defaults.
|
1
|
In the wizard step, locate the Restore Defaults option (a link or secondary button near the top of the item list). |
|
2
|
Click Restore Defaults. Items are rearranged into the BGL template sequence immediately. |
|
3
|
The restored order saves automatically. You can re-apply a custom order at any time by dragging items again. |
How ordering affects generated documents
Items appear in the generated document in the order you have set in the wizard. There is no separate step to confirm ordering before generating.
| If you... | The generated document will... |
|---|---|
| Kept the default order | Show items in the BGL standard sequence |
| Dragged items into a custom order | Show items in your custom sequence |
| Used Restore Defaults | Show items in the BGL standard sequence |
If your document already has an Approved version, reordering items and regenerating creates a new version. The previously approved document is retained as a historical record.
Frequently asked questions
Does reordering items change any of the content I've entered?
No. Dragging items and using Restore Defaults only changes the sequence. Descriptions, risk ratings, responses, and all other field values stay as entered.
Can I set a different order for each wizard independently?
Yes. Each wizard (Risk Assessment, Policy, Process) stores its own item order independently. Restoring defaults in your Risk Assessment has no effect on the order in your Policy or Process.
I can't see a drag handle on an item. Why?
Drag handles appear on hover. If the wizard is in a read-only state (the document is Under Review or Approved and you have not entered edit mode), items cannot be reordered. Set the document back to In Progress to enable editing.
Does Restore Defaults affect every step at once or just the one I'm on?
Just the current step. Each step has its own Restore Defaults action.
If I reorder items and then regenerate, does that create a new version?
Yes. Regenerating always creates a new version. If the previous version was Approved, it is retained as a historical record. The new version starts in In Progress status.
